(Chris Gilbert/ Psychology Today) –– The percentage of adults with recent symptoms of anxiety or depression increased from 36.4 to 41.5 percent in the U.S. between August 2020 and February 2021, with the largest increases among adults 18 to 29, according to the CDC

Researchers also estimate that around one in three women and one in five men in the country have an episode of major depression by the age of 65.

Numerous papers have been written on how to treat anxiety and depression but many fewer address prevention.
