How much time does it take to get an appointment?
Appointments can be booked immediately by phone to see our medical professionals within 24 to 48 hours.
Is there a fee for a cancelation or modification?
Should an appointment be cancelled without adequate notice, a cancellation fee may apply if it’s not done within 48hrs before the appointment. In the event an appointment needs to be modified please contact us to reschedule your appointment. Please contact us should you need to cancel or modify your appointment.
If I decided to change clinics, can you transfer my file?
Yes, we will transfer your file to your new physician.
I sent my request through the booking platform, and I still don’t have an answer. What should I do?
If after 72 hours you have not been contacted, please try re-submitting your request via our website https://www.vmmed.com/contact-us/ or calling us directly.
After my test, where are my results sent?
Your results will be sent directly to your referring physician.
How long does it take to have a mammogram?
An appointment for a mammogram can usually be scheduled within 24 to 48 hours.
When can I pay for my consultation?
Payment can be made at the registration desk.
How much time does it take to have the results?
Results from appointments in our Breast Center, excluding biopsy results, are generally available on the same day. Results from ultrasounds, x-rays, mammograms, MRIs and biopsies are available four to ten business days following the exam.
Can I choose my physician?
We will always do our best to accommodate your requests, within the requested physician’s availability. However, please note that all of our physicians at VM Med are highly qualified professionals within their field of expertise.
Can I choose the date of my appointment?
Our team will always try their best to accommodate your requests.
When would I need a biopsy?
If your physician considers it necessary, he will order a biopsy. It can be done the same day at the clinic. Some patients feel having this option contributes to lower anxiety and stress as you don’t need to go elsewhere for your tests.
How can I detect breast cancer?
There are warning signs of breast cancer:
– New lump in the breast or underarm
– Thickening or swelling of part of the breast.
– Irritation or dimpling of breast skin.
– Redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or the breast.
– Pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area.
We recommend patients book a consultation to see our expert physicians if they have any concerns, and as recommended by your referring physician.
If I have a lump in my breast is it certain that I have breast cancer?
A small percentage of breast lumps turn out to be cancer. If you notice a lump in your breast or near that region, or if you notice any changes in breast tissue, you should consider booking an appointment. The physician may order breast imaging to determine if this lump is of concern or not.
Is there male breast cancer?
Can I receive a prescription renewal if I’m a walk-in patient?
No. You need to have a consultation for a physician to issue a prescription.
Should I have my health card at every visit?
You must have your card the first time we open your file and when it’s renewed.
Can I have a consultation over the phone?
Depending on the nature of your visit, it may be possible to have a phone consultation, although initial consultations are preferred to be done in person.
