If your physician considers it necessary, he will order a biopsy. It can be done the same day at the clinic. Some patients feel having this option contributes to lower anxiety and stress as you don’t need to go elsewhere for your tests.

There are warning signs of breast cancer:
– New lump in the breast or underarm
– Thickening or swelling of part of the breast.
– Irritation or dimpling of breast skin.
– Redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or the breast.
– Pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area.

A small percentage of breast lumps turn out to be cancer.  If you notice a lump in your breast or near that region, or if you notice any changes in breast tissue, you should consider booking an appointment. The physician may order breast imaging to determine if this lump is of concern or not.

Whether you are a male or a female, you are born with a variety of breast cells and tissue. Even though males do not develop milk-producing breasts, a man’s breast cells, and tissue can still develop cancer. Even if it’s very rare, men can be diagnosed with breast cancer. Most men diagnosed are over the age of 50.
