What is the Breast Center?
VM Med’s Breast Center is dedicated to taking care of every aspect of our patients’ breast health needs. As the largest private breast center in Canada and an internationally recognized leader in breast cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment, our specialists conduct comprehensive exams, including imaging exams and biopsies, performed within our multidisciplinary clinic, and sometimes conducted within a single, time-saving visit.
Our team of experts assesses each individual case of breast cancer and works with you to create a personalized course of treatment that prioritizes your health and comfort throughout the process.

What can a patient expect?
At the VM Med Breast Center, we know how important timely answers and compassionate care are. That’s why we offer next-day appointments with a breast expert physician, and provide same-day results for mammography, ultrasound, and MRI examinations. Biopsy results are usually available within seven to ten business days, and if surgery is required, it can often be scheduled in the same week as the diagnosis. No referral is needed—simply fill out our online form, and our patient affairs coordinator will contact you as quickly as possible.
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted at reception and asked to complete a few simple intake forms. If a mammogram is part of your visit, you’ll be guided to our Radiology Department, where the exam will be performed in a comfortable and private setting. From there, you’ll move to the physician consultation area and check in with our coordinator, who will keep you updated until your doctor is ready to see you.
During your consultation, your doctor will review your imaging results with you in detail, answer any questions, and, if needed, recommend additional tests or services—all within the same visit whenever possible. Once your appointment is complete, if a follow-up is required, our team will reach out to you directly by email to make scheduling simple and seamless.
